12.–21. 11 2025
Opening: 11. November 2025, 18 Uhr
Along the walls, material deposits can be seen, which can be read as moments of a state before or after form. They point to what remains when physical volumes begin to dissolve. In the entrance area, a sketch of a knot executed in the technique of “Grid Drawings” marks the attempt at a proportionally accurate transfer and enlargement. Plaster casts of various construction phases bring this process into the space; they record development as a sequence, as a series of processes. The video Tracking, recorded during a run with a mobile phone in a jacket pocket, shows blue-violet color fields without recognizable imagery. Steps and traffic noise structure the visual abstraction on an acoustic level.Fragments of cast cellphone cables loosely cover a bookshelf, while a keyring hangs next to a built-in door. The street-facing windows are covered with pigmented latex lupofolie to provide privacy. Debris from the room and accumulated dust have been swept into a pile in the center of the space. The exhibition is accompanied by a text by Sebastian Koeck.
Magdalena Stückler (*1996/AT) lives and works in Vienna.
She explores the space between socially constructed opposites such as activity and passivity, excess and scarcity, presence and absence. Her predominantly sculptural practice investigates the relationships between the human body, objects, and architectural environments. In doing so, she addresses the social and economic conditions of contemporary production and connects them with influences from fashion, architecture, and textile craft. She has exhibited her work at Salzburger Kunstverein, Krinzinger Schottenfeld, Laurenz Space Vienna, and Neuer Wiener Kunstverein. Since 2023, she has been a co-founder of the collective Garage Show. After graduating from the Fashion School Hetzendorf, she studied at the University of Applied Arts Vienna in the departments of Photography and Sculpture & Space. She received the 2024 Förderungsstipendium of the Province of Lower Austria and the 2025 Start-Grant (bmwkms).
